Who are we?<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

\"Jetsun<\/a>

Jetsun Pema, the sister of H.H. the Dalai Lama, has led the Tibetan Villages Organisation since 1964. She is honorary president of our Society<\/p><\/div>\n

Our society Verein Tibetfreunde<\/b> coordinates sponsorships<\/a><\/span> for Tibetan children in need, aged persons, nuns, monks and students in India and Nepal<\/p>\n

Additionally we support projects<\/a><\/span> for education, health and agriculture in India, Nepal and Tibet, for the survival of Tibetan culture and religion and for the defence of human rights.<\/p>\n

We are a society for joint development work and humanitarian aid in countries of the Himalayan region within the meaning of Article 60 ff ZGB of Swiss Law, and are therefore tax exempt<\/b><\/p>\n

We work closely with the various departments of the Tibetan Government in Exile in Dharamsala<\/p>\n

Thanks to the support of the Indian Government, with the help also of contributions to many mostly private aid foundations, but more than anything through intense and coordinated efforts of their own, Tibetans in India and Nepal have built a working infrastructure. Many infrastructural projects however lack the funds for completion<\/p>\n

\"US<\/a>Boarding schools largely supported by contributions from Europe have been built in Ladakh and other regions of India. Numerous sponsorships have enabled Tibetan children to attend these schools<\/p>\n

Simple clinical stations have been constructed in dwelling settlements in Nepal and the whole of India. Finance of these sick-bays is not in every case certain. This work has been come into being through intense effort, and needs support to to keep going Forward<\/p>\n
