Our Non-Profit-Organisation was founded by a team of committed Swiss women in 1988. The Bern Prize for Freedom and Human Rights was awarded in the same year to HH the 14th Dalai Lama. He presented half of the prize money as startup capital with his best wishes.
\nThe number of members ran to 590 at 31 Dezember 2014.<\/p>\n
Many sponsors have more than one sponsored child, nun, monk or aged person. 1062 prot\u00e9g\u00e9[e]s were sponsored at the end of 2014.<\/p>\n

Our administrative and publicity costs are correspondingly minimal, in fact 2.7 % of the total turnover for the year 2014. These overheads are paid from member contributions. Almost all subscription money is spent on our projects. Your gifts and sponsorship payments are forwarded to India and Nepal in their entirety.<\/p>\n\n

<\/a>The Swiss foundation ZEWO takes the position: \u201cIndividual sponsorships for children abroad are fundamentally problematic.\u201d ZEWO therefore declines associate status for organisations supporting individual sponsorships. This decision has its basis in apprehensions which we and our project partners in India and Nepal do not in the least share.
\nFor this reason our society has not applied for the ZEWO seal of approval.<\/p>\n\n
