The monastery open a school for 25 pupils from rural regions of Darjeeling and Sikkim in 2010. Their number is currently over 50. The vegetarian monastic diet combined with scarcity of money to buy milk, fruit and vegetables has even produced symptoms of malnutrition in child monks<\/p>\n<p>This amounts to a serious need of aid.
