In Amala’s Own Words:
A great deal has been achieved, but we need to go much further to fulfill our duties and reach our objectives. We want to give all our children the chance of unfolding their talents in full, by providing them with the best possible education
Just as His Holiness The Dalai Lama drew to our attention on the 48th anniversary of our foundation day, the future direction of our programme will be professional qualifications. We must respond to the needs of our community in exile. “When the time comes when we can return to our homeland Tibet, properly qualified people must be available to us.” We shall make all the more efforts to improve the quality of our social and cultural education, without losing from our sight the simplicity of our lifestyle here in exile
PROJECT-Update
a)Academic Life:
150 Students have registered for the academic intake year 2014/15 at the Dalai Lama Institute, in the three established paths of BA, BCom and BCA, and in two new programmes for Tibetan and Chinese language and literature. Student numbers are currently 300
b)Building Project:
The first building phase has been completed with the help of startup capital from His Holiness The Dalai Lama and hundreds of gifts from all over the world. Phase Two is underway and the whole project should be complete in three years. We give heartfelt thanks to all our benefactors. We hope for still more support so that our dream of a Tibetan university becomes reality and stands to serve the next generation
For this we still depend on your help
