Some 200 children and young people still flee Tibet every year over the snow-bound mountain passes to Nepal. After a three-day pause and clearance from the High Commission for Refugees they are sent on to India. Nepal awards no residence permit to further refugees. Separation from parents has traumatised many of the children. They reach Nepal exhausted and frequently frostbitten.

Where are these young people to be accommodated? Where can they go to school? Who will pay to support them?
TCV (Tibetan Children’s Villages) has faced the problem, has organised care, shelter and school, and has organised a fund for these emergencies. The children have a new home and a schooling advancement of quality.
