Elderly Tibetans here predominantly were freedom fighters earlier in the Loe-Mustang frontier area between Tibet and Nepal. The government of Nepal donated land in 1975 which now has some 60 family houses, schools and a retirement home
Older residents without family live together, sharing daily tasks and affording each other practical support. Some share a household with a relative and help at home or with children.
Costs:
A sponsorship costs CHF 400 per year.
