PA ST3 212x269The Men-Tsee-Khang Institute was first founded by the 13th Dalai Lama in Lhasa, Tibet in 1916. site of the Institute

The 14th Dalai Lama re-established Men-Tsee-Khang on 23 March 1961 in Dharamsala, to keep Tibetan medicine and celestial observation in use and to educate Students in those disciplines. Men-Tsee-Khang is guided by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

Applicants must pass an entry examination. The Medical Study is 6 years long including the practical year and is very demanding. Newly qualified doctors may subsequently work in the 54 Tibetan clinics in India and Nepal

Onsite medicine at Men-Tsee-Khang treats thousands of Tibetans, Indians and others every year. Treatment is free for poor people, monks, nuns and Tibetan refugees

Costs:

PA ST4 300 197This sponsorship costs CHF 900 per year and pays for tuition, food and accommodation. You can transfer funds to our sponsorship account in Switzerland and we will take care of administrating and forwarding them (at no additional cost).
