The Mount Kailash School was founded to make a  good education possible for Tibetan refugee children. It is located in one of the four refugee settlements for Tibetans in Tashi Pakhiel in Pokhara. The school has classes from kindergarten to 12th grade and at present 122 pupils attend. The children come from the neighboring areas further, for example from Mustang, Dhorpatan and Manang. The school is a home for the children because most of them only go home to their families during the long winter holidays.
