SLF cares for children at the Tibetan Refugee Settlement Dhorpatan, Tashiling Tibetan Refugee Camp, Pokhara, and for the children of needy Tibetan families in Kathmandu.

Tibetfreunde administers 30 SLF sponsorships at present. They are for children, young people and young adults at schools, colleges and universities in Kathmandu and in India. Children are included in SLF’s program when their family or carer has applied to the Snow Lion Foundation in writing and it has been established that their circumstances are indeed poor and their education cannot be financed without intervention

The Snow Lion Foundation connects diverse organisations which seek to find sponsors for these children in want. SLF is also responsible for forwarding money received to the appropriate schools, for example MA, SP, TWWG and HS, so that contributions arrive where they are meant and needed

A sponsorhip via SLF costs CHF 550 per year
