TM_monkThe 7th Taksham Rinpoche founded Taksham Monastery in 1978, and it is the earliest monastery in the south Indian Tibetan settlement Dhondenling, 46 Km from Kollegal, the state capital of Karnataka. TM_monk2The isolated monastery has little financial support. The vegetarian monastic diet combined with scarcity of money to buy milk, fruit and vegetables has even produced symptoms of malnutrition in child monks

This amounts to a serious need of aid. If some of the young monks had a sponsor, they could all eat better because resources are shared in the monastic system

Sponsorship costs 500

If you would like to sponsor a young monk at Taksham, please make contact with administrator Jeannette Hafner quoting code TM
